Introduction

Recent allegations involving internal medicine doctor, Dr. Oumair Aejaz, are deeply troubling and shocking. Dr. Aejaz is originally from India and practiced medicine in a few different clinical settings there before coming to the U.S. on a visa as a contracted physician, holding privileges at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc Township and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Multiple reports point toward grave misconduct that violated a physician’s most sacred duty: to keep their patients safe. The Allegations Against Dr. Oumair Aejaz

Dr. Oumair Aejaz was taken into custody on August 8. He is facing allegations of secretly filming individuals, including children and adults, in private settings such as bathrooms, changing rooms, and hospital rooms, as well as in his residence. The allegations also include recording non-consensual sexual encounters with women who were incapacitated or asleep. These alleged crimes are reported to have occurred over at least six years.

Aejaz was charged on August 13, 2024, with 10 counts of criminal offenses including:

  • One count of child sexually abusive activity
  • One count of using a computer to create or reproduce child sexually abusive material
  • Two counts of capturing/recording children under the age of 18 while nude 
  • Two counts of capturing/recording two women over the age of 18 while nude 
  • Four counts of using a computer to commit a crime

The wife of Dr. Aejaz is the one we have to thank for starting down this investigative path. She saw things of pornographic nature that made her scared for herself and her children. And those things she saw did not add up. Mrs. Aejaz bravely decided it was appropriate (and time) to look more closely to see if any patterns were visible.

In September 2024, GGH held a press conference to announce the class action lawsuit against Dr. Aejaz and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.

At the conference, it was revealed that authorities had seized over 13,000 videos from Dr. Aejaz, showing victims as young as two years old.
