The episode focused on how online predators allegedly target children on platforms like Roblox by using coercion, in-game currency, and other digital tactics to groom them. The documentary also featured two clients of the firm, including a YouTube creator named Michael Schlep, who has spoken publicly about the predator networks allegedly operating on these sites. During the episode, Gould and Vanderporten discussed the legal risks children face in online spaces and the accountability tech companies should have when their platforms fail to keep young users safe.
GGH attorney Nicholas Wainwright discussed a lawsuit regarding a teenager who was allegedly groomed and sexually abused at the Detroit Behavioral Institute in Michigan. In 2015, the teen was sent to the facility, and during the following year, a staff member allegedly fondled and groped her while restraining her, claiming it was to calm her down. This staff member allegedly bought her lacy underwear and had inappropriate conversations about affairs. In 2022, the state suspended the license of the institute because of continuous abuse allegations. Wainwright alleged that the company chose to cut costs on hiring qualified staff to increase profits, which made the problems at the facility worse. The teen allegedly suffered extreme emotional damage because of her time at the facility.
GGH founding partner Martin D. Gould and senior attorney Nicholas Wainwright filed a lawsuit against the Detroit Behavioral Institute and its owner, Acadia Healthcare, regarding allegations of abuse in Michigan. In 2015, a teenager was allegedly sexually abused by a staff member on multiple occasions, including while she was physically restrained. The lawsuit alleges the abuse continued even after the teenager left the facility. The complaint further alleges that the teenager witnessed other minors being abused and that staff members engaged in inappropriate relationships with residents while misconduct went unchecked. In 2025, GGH filed a separate lawsuit in the same court representing three other survivors who made similar claims of sexual abuse. The lawsuit alleges that Acadia Healthcare ignored and covered up evidence of the abuse, failed to properly supervise staff, and did not implement basic safety measures to protect children. In 2022, the state of Michigan shut down the facility after multiple investigations into resident safety.
GGH lawyers announced a civil lawsuit against Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Board of Education over alleged sexual abuse at Farragut Career Academy in Illinois. The abuse allegedly took place between 2012 and 2015, when the student was about 14 years old.

In March 2026, the lawsuit alleged the abuse happened between 2012 and 2015 and continued for years after school officials were warned.
GGH attorneys said the student allegedly met Aguilera after seeking guidance for the school’s JROTC program, where Aguilera presented herself as a mentor. The lawsuit claimed Aguilera allegedly began private communication through Instagram and later allegedly bought the student a cellphone to continue contact. It was alleged she gave the student rides from school and softball games, which later allegedly escalated into repeated sexual abuse.
The complaint alleged that by 2015, the interactions had allegedly become physical and included kissing, groping, oral sex, and other sexual acts that allegedly took place in Aguilera’s car and apartment. It also alleged Aguilera threatened to report the student’s family to immigration authorities to stop her from speaking out.
GGH senior attorney Nicholas Wainwright said the lawsuit alleged that school administrators were warned after Aguilera’s former spouse reported inappropriate messages, but the district allegedly did not notify child protection authorities or police. The complaint also alleged Aguilera’s mother held a senior administrative role at the school and had access to student records, which allegedly discouraged reporting.

This provision allegedly took away the legal rights of survivors. In August 2025, Roblox reportedly banned a content creator and issued a cease-and-desist letter after he challenged the company’s safety practices. It was alleged that widespread grooming networks used the platform to target minors and move them to other apps for explicit content. It was also alleged that prominent developers once partnered with the company exploited young users. Some individuals allegedly used the developer programs to enable exploitation while the company failed to provide proper moderation, prioritizing profit over child safety. These institutions knew about the abuse for a long time. Now that the truth is coming out, these companies are looking for a loophole. Steve Vandeporten said they would not stay silent while children were harmed by large technology companies.

The investigation exposes how predators allegedly exploit popular gaming platforms such as Roblox to target children, using digital tools, in-game currency, and coercive tactics to groom young users.
The episode also features two GGH clients, including YouTube personality Michael “Schlep,” who has publicly raised concerns about alleged predator networks operating on the platform. Gould and Vanderporten provide legal insight into the growing risks children face online and the responsibility technology companies may have when platforms fail to protect young users.
GGH Lawyers Bryce Hensley and Jennifer Cascio represented fourteen women who, in January 2026, were involved in a civil lawsuit alleging abuse at DMC, Sinai Grace Hospital in Michigan. The lawsuit was filed against DMC, Sinai Grace Hospital, and a former nurse, William Figueroa Berrios, who was charged with multiple alleged sex crimes involving patients at that hospital.
In April 2024, while Berrios was employed at Sinai Grace Hospital, the hospital was allegedly placed on notice about his conduct. According to the allegations, a patient identified as Jane Doe 1 complained that the nurse asked her to remove her clothing before a simple EKG procedure. She allegedly refused the request and then asked that a female nurse provide her care. Attorneys stated that this complaint was documented in hospital records.
Despite allegedly having records of the April 2024 complaint, attorneys claimed that DMC and Sinai Grace Hospital did not take action at that time. The lawsuit alleged that the hospital system did nothing about the complaint until the summer of 2025. In September 2025, Berrios was arrested and charged with multiple alleged sex crimes involving patients at Sinai Grace Hospital.
In January 2026, GGH lawyers Bryce Hensley and Jennifer Cascio announced that fourteen more women filed a lawsuit against Sinai-Grace Hospital and former nurse Wilfredo Figueroa-Berrios. This legal action brought the total number of women suing the facility to twenty-six. The lawsuit alleged that the hospital was negligent and failed to protect patients from Figueroa-Berrios, who was fired in August 2025. In April 2024, the nurse allegedly withheld pain medication from a female patient until she removed her underwear for an electrocardiogram. Hensley stated that the hospital was put on notice regarding the predator on their staff at that time, but the filing claimed that no action was taken after the patient reported the incident. Another woman reported that Figueroa-Berrios allegedly rubbed his genitals against her buttocks, and a nurse reportedly replied that the staff already knew about his behavior. Cascio remarked that the hospital allegedly played a complicit role in the abuse of these women. The lawsuit detailed that between March 2024 and August 2025, Figueroa-Berrios allegedly groped several women, removed a patient’s clothing, and asked to see nude photos. He also allegedly followed a woman into a bathroom after she was discharged, held her down on a sink, and sexually assaulted her. Figueroa-Berrios was criminally charged with sexually assaulting three women and ordered to stand trial.
