GGH founding partner Bryce Hensley said a lawsuit was filed in Illinois alleging that a female security guard at Farragut Career Academy sexually abused a student and that Chicago Public Schools failed to report it. In March 2026, the lawsuit alleged the abuse happened between 2012 and 2015 and was not reported to authorities.
GGH partner Jennifer Cascio said the student allegedly met the security guard as a freshman after being referred to her for guidance in the school’s JROTC program. The lawsuit claimed the guard allegedly groomed the student by offering rides to and from sports activities, which later allegedly escalated into repeated sexual assaults. It also alleged the two exchanged explicit and inappropriate messages.
The lawsuit further claimed the guard’s mother, who allegedly worked in the school’s administration, helped conceal the situation and allegedly made threats related to the student’s family. It was also alleged that the abuse was not reported until 2015, when the guard’s spouse came forward with messages. The complaint alleged the school failed to act and allowed the guard to continue working until 2018, despite the allegations.
