One woman reported that the nurse allegedly rubbed his genitals against her buttocks. When she reported this to a staff member, the nurse reportedly replied that they already knew about his behavior. Another allegation described how Figueroa-Berrios allegedly followed a woman into a bathroom after she was discharged, held her down on a sink, and sexually assaulted her. 

Cascio remarked that the hospital allegedly played a complicit role in the abuse of these women. Attorneys claimed that nearly all the new allegations occurred after the documented patient incident in April 2024. Figueroa-Berrios’s behavior, including the former nurse’s predatory behavior, was allegedly known to the hospital, but the hospital allegedly failed to act on warning signs. The nurse’s predatory behavior long went unchecked, and the hospital system knew or should have known about the risks. Figueroa-Berrios was fired in August 2025 and arrested in September 2025.
